Blood Bowl Update Bringing Dark Elves Next Monthby Alice O'Connor Oct 23, 2009 11:36am CST Blood Bowl developer Cyanide has announced a free update will add Dark Elves to its PC adaptation of Games Workshop's American football-inspired game in November.The Dark Elves--who "combine Elven agility with a cruel brutality"-- have their own "Star Player, cheerleaders, new model designs and unique animations," Cyanide explains.A retail 'Dark Elves' edition including the update was also announced, though this will still hit only select European countries. A downloadable release is available worldwide.

The Legendary Edition will feature 12 new playable races in addition to the 8 existing races, including Undeads, Amazons and Ogres. All 20 races have their personal style, tactics and unique skills which give each game a diversity rarely seen in a strategy game. There are also new and more impressive stadiums to welcome all these new teams. From the snowy Norse stadium to the creepy interior of a crypt, the change of scenery is guaranteed. A new Story mode is introduced, in which players will play as a freelance coach. They will have to lead several famous teams and take up many challenges through a story revealing the origins of Blood Bowl, the Old World and its many races that relentlessly compete with each other in merciless games.
