Week 1: Holiday
(http://farm1.static.flickr.com/139/347974329_c3c4055417_o.jpg) (http://www.flickr.com/photos/idolminds/347974329/)
Took this last night coming home from work. There was a house I really wanted to get a shot of, but they already took down all the decorations. I was bummed, but driving home we passed Medieval Times. Lucky me they still had their lights up and on.
-
Cool pic. I wish they had a Medieval Times somewhere around here, I think there's one in Dallas or Houston but thats like 4 hours away.
-
All I can view is a low-res pic on your flickr. Can you only post really small things there?
-
No, Flickr resizes your pics to various resolutions. Just above the pic on Flickr are some buttons with one of them saying "All Sizes" where you can view them all, including original size.
I posted the full size one in the thread here. I had to shrink it because it was pretty noisy, and had a slight blur since it was taken in a car traveling down the highway...heh.
-
Okay, gotcha'. And that's a cool pic. Wide lens? I never did get to go to one of those places. Once my parents and sister went to one when we were down in SoCal for stuff, but I was off visiting my girlfriend at the time who was living there, so I didn't get to go. I had to spend time wasting away in the arms of a beautiful woman with legs 'till Tuesday. Poor me.
-
I had no time to attach the wide lens for this one. I saw it not far off and scrambled to pull my camera out and set up the exposure. I took exactly one picture, and then we were too far past it to take another.
I have never actually gone to the place.
-
There was no silverware in medieval times, hence there is no silverware at medieval times.
-
I went and ate at an *actual* castle in Ireland, which was (surprisingly) a lot less stupid than I thought it was going to be. The best part? Aside from relatively good music and a really funny host guy who made light of most of the stuff while giving you information instead of trying too hard and being really cheesy, there were four jugs of wine at every table, two on each side. In one jug of each pair, there was white wine. In the other jug, red. Whenever one ran out, they refilled them and set them back on the table. My side of the table went through more jugs than I could count. Idol will attest to this, as he's seen the pictures of Julia toward the end of the evening. She's the most beautiful girl in the world, and she's always very poised and nice looking and such... and she looks completely and utterly schnockered. It was hilarious. We stumbled over to a pub right next store with a lot of people from our tour, and we both ended up downing a couple pints of Guinness after the meal was over (which ended up them shoving us out into a gift shop and giving us some... rather *strong* Irish coffee). Haha... it was like the best night ever. To this day I don't think I've ever been that drunk, not even the time me and Paul polished off a 30 pack of Coors between the two of us.
Anyway, uhm... sorry. Tangent. And idol, never tell Julia that you laughed at that picture (and I know you did), because she would kill the both of us in a rage the likes of which you have never seen. :-[
-
I think you need to share this picture with the world now.
Anywho, I've been to a Medieval Times a few times when I was younger. It was awesome back then... not sure what I would think now. Still, it's hard to put down any form of jousting.

Week 2: Open
(http://farm1.static.flickr.com/142/356061797_f75e07d99d_o.jpg) (http://www.flickr.com/photos/idolminds/356061797/)
I took this a few minutes ago, actually. I decided to go see what I could see on our property. This is a macro shot of some moss that was growing all over one area.
-
That's... moss? It looks too big. But it's a cool shot. Must have some crazy moss out there.
-
If it doesnt snow tonight I'll go take a pic not so close up. Its...mossy. Probably considered "ground cover" or something.
-
Gonna link this since its not a P52 photo, but here is the scale shot of the moss (http://flickr.com/photos/idolminds/357476198/). It snowed a little last night, but you get the idea. That is the same clump of moss, with a penny on it.
-
Neato!
-
Good quality on the camera, what kind are you using?
-
Canon Powershot A80

Week 3: Script
(http://farm1.static.flickr.com/127/363600164_39f0c669bc_o.jpg) (http://www.flickr.com/photos/idolminds/363600164/)
I really had no idea what to take for this. Luckily today I notice my dad had filled out some service reports for work we had done sitting in the fax machine. The sun was shining in on the table...so I set the report down, placed the pen on it...had my mom hold up a sheet of white tissue paper to diffuse the light a bit and soften the shadow...presto!
-
Excellent! I dig it. I was kind of hoping to bring people either way in or way out with this one. I thought it lent itself more to extremes, at least given the interpretations that popped into my head.
-
Week 4 - Sky/Stars
(http://farm1.static.flickr.com/134/372260760_a088d8f4e9_o.jpg) (http://www.flickr.com/photos/idolminds/372260760/)
I was amazed the stars showed up in the image at all.
-
Week 5 - Fences
(http://farm1.static.flickr.com/125/380757396_2bbf8d76fa_o.jpg) (http://www.flickr.com/photos/idolminds/380757396/)
Eh, not really that special and only fits because a fence happens to be in it. Though I suppose the fact that its chicken wire helps tell the story. This is a pic of my aunts burned chicken coop.
-
Wow, so that's the coop, eh? I totally forgot about posting a picture. Damn illness. I took one, even though it sucks. Where the hell is my camera...
-
Dude you are really good. I really like Week 2 and Week 3.
-
Week 6 - Transportation
(http://farm1.static.flickr.com/138/389761624_93ea9c404a_o.jpg) (http://www.flickr.com/photos/idolminds/389761624/)
The new Ford Airstream concept car. This is the first car I saw at the auto show. Concept cars are cool, except for the fact that they never get made into real cars. They always retool them to have more "standard" interiors....which removes all the fun.
-
Nice pic. The car looks utterly retarded, though. I'll take the girl instead. :)
-
Agreed. She had a nice voice, too. As if you care.
It is extremely hard to take good pics at the auto show. So many damn people that are completely oblivious to cameras walking right into your shots, and then standing there in your way. Makes you want to kill them.
-
haha imagine when they unveiled the car... the audience would be grunting in unison.
-
Week 7 - Misc
(http://farm1.static.flickr.com/154/400463626_188a221974_o.jpg) (http://www.flickr.com/photos/idolminds/400463626/)
You know what? Forget themes, I'm just going to post a pic of whatever each week.
So..this is some change from my pocket. Amazing, I know....
-
Heh. I've totally crapped out. I don't know what happened.
And change is awesome. You can put it in jars and stuff.
-
I hate change so much. I try as hard as possible to give it away. Tip jars? I'm a sucker for those, since all my spare change can go in there.
Also I'm sorry for the p52 slackness. Luckily you are here to keep the project alive until I get my new camera.
