Activision and id Software announce preorder details for Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars and word on a Limited Collector's Edition of the upcoming multiplayer shooter:
When: Pre-orders start on March 26th at Gamestop and on April 12th at Best Buy.
Why:
By reserving a copy of Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars in advance, fans can secure their preferred username, receive special edition collector’s cards, as well as an exclusive poster.
More Details:
§ Advance Username Registration: Get an exclusive keycode to reserve your preferred username now.
§ Collector’s Cards: Receive the first 2 cards in a set of 12, each featuring a different Strogg or GDF vehicle or deployable with game facts and tips. The remaining 10 cards will only be available in the Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars Limited Collector’s Edition (see below).
§ Poster: There are two posters in all, with each retail location offering one exclusive poster each.
About the Limited Collector’s Edition:
Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars Limited Collector’s Edition features premium packaging with a slipcase, as well as ten collector’s cards, available only through the Limited Collector’s Edition offer. In addition to the premium packaging and collectible cards, fans will receive a bonus DVD, complete with concept art and other cool stuff for Enemy Territory: Quake Wars’ biggest fans.

Meh. The cards would be cool but eventually stashed in a drawer, dont really care that much about the case, the poster would be cool but I'd have to preorder at several places to get them all, right?
I'll just get the regular edition.

I don't even know if I'll be getting it. At this point, I have like no money at all. I have no idea what exactly we're going to be doing for the OWmeet. Gonna' have about 250 bucks to last us 2 weeks. Doable under normal circumstances, but sucky when you've got company and it's time to party. Credit debt, here I come! Thank God we're getting a big tax return this year...

Cool! I didn't realize it was so close to release.
I agree about the collector's edition. It doesn't seem that exciting.
I'm also surprised by the unique login names. Why would they do that? What if you want to change your name?

Maybe you have an etched-in-stone online name and a separate "display name" for in-game??
