Pensioner picks up wrong grandson

A short-sighted Croatian pensioner sparked a police manhunt when he mistakenly picked up another boy instead of his grandson from a kindergarten.

Luka Karlovic, 70, arrived at a kindergarten in Zagreb to pick up his five-year-old grandson Petar.

But when an employee called for the boy to come and meet his grandfather another Petar stepped forward, and Karlovic drove off with him.

The mistake was only realised half an hour later when the missing boy's father turned up at the kindergarten to take him home.

Karlovic said: "My eyesight is getting a bit poor now and this was the first time I had seen my grandson for six months.

"I thought he looked a bit different, but I just put it down to the fact that kids can change a lot at that age in a short space of time."

That's actually pretty funny.  Poor guy.  Someone cut up his license, though.

For real. "My eyesight is getting a bit poor now so I decided to drive off with a 6-year old. I can barely see the road by I'll be damned if I'm going to let someone drive me around!."

 ;D

it's like my grandma driving...  she refuses to let anyone drive her.  She always goes down one way roads since she can't keep up with all the trafficking rules.  She loves driving in the middle of the road and her eyesight isn't great either.  She hit a cab once and she got out and yelled at the driver "Why'd you hit me!"

police just let her go cause she's old.

See, that's not right.  When you get to that point, you just plain shouldn't be allowed to drive.  It's only funny until somebody dies because of you.

oh believe me.. if there's a busy person i know, it has to be her..  she's had operations on her knees because she wore them out from moving around so much..  it was bone to bone already.

She wakes at 3 am, and does house work.. she goes to market at 5 am.. or just goes out for a drive while people are asleep.  By 7 am, she's done so much already.  And she goes like that till night time.  Chasing her around and trying to get her to rest is awfully tiring.

She's 80+ now.

She was even worse when younger..  She was manager of a bank, a PE teacher and a mother to 7 kids.  When she gave birth to her last kid, she was cooking lunch, felt like she was about to give birth and walked to the hospital, gave birth, and went back home and finished cooking lunch.

That sounds like a lot like my grandmother.
