Looks like the week of 9/2, starting tomorrow, Age of Mythology (Retail Box) which also contains the expansion AoM: Titans inside will be $4.99 at Circuit City, according to CheapAssGamer. (http://cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=150312)
So, guys, for those who played it, is AoM and its Titans expansion any good?
I'm guessing for $4.99, you really can't go wrong for a game + its expansion...
-
I haven't played the expansion, but AoM was meh.. Nothing special really.. It's just Age of Empires in 3D with a Greek mythology theme.

Never played AoE, either...

Hmm.. Played Empire Earth? It was basically Sierra's response to Microsoft's AoE. It spanned more ages, and generally felt more elaborate.

Nope.
I should note: I don't play many strategy games.

Alrighty then. That clarifies a bit :D Then you might not be interested in AoM :P hehe

For $4.99, might be worth a try though into that genre of games, no?
It's funny, b/c I also have Homeworld 1 + 2, Starcraft: Battle Chest, all which I ain't even began.

So maybe you should play the 10,000 games you've bought and never played instead of wasting more money on other games that you'll never play? Just a thought.
-
Play Homeworld.

Played both and thought it was ok. I preferred AoE 2, AoM felt too simplistic like they removed much of the micro management that I enjoyed in the AoE games. I didn't even bother with AoE 3 it just didn't appeal to me.
-
I bought the AoM pack from CC today.

First question that springs to mind is 'why?' but anyway what do you think of it so far... given that you might have actualy installed it.

I spent a few moments w/ it; w/ the tutorial and all. Was checking to see how it ran and looked; no problems there.
Was learning how to play and all; seemed like it was real easy to learn how to play and all.
From what I played, seems like, it'll be a good departure from my usual assortment of games that I play -- which normally are shooting games and RPG's.

HAha MyD's got a point considering the price :D
Right now I've got C&C3 installed, it's alright. My favourite RTS games are still DoW and CoH.
Right now the main game in my sights is BioShock. I'll buy it after I build my new system.
