BethSoft recently bought the website -- Elderscrollsonline.com....
...So, maybe an ES Online MMO is in the works?? (http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/news/35170/Elder-Scrolls-Online)
It wouldn't be surprising, especially after KOTOR MMO was announced, recently...
Elder Scrolls Online?

While doing a little domain crawling, we noticed that ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Bethesda Softworks, recently purchased ELDERSCROLLSONLINE.COM. Combine this little acquisition with the fact that it recently opened up a online game division headed up by Mythic co-founder Matt Firor, and I think we might have made a love connection. We contacted Bethesda about this, but have yet to get an official response.
How does a massively multiplayer version of The Elder Scrolls strike you?
How about I just say give me Elder Scrolls 5: Single Player instead????
Do we really need another MMO??

I doubt I'd ever play an MMO from Bethsoft. It would have so many bugs it would exploited by the masses and be an utter failure. No thanks.
-
Why would they do this? They have had crazy success with their singleplayer game, so why?
-
I'm pretty sure every game developer has had the following conversation in the past three years.
"Dude, look how many people play WoW."
"Yeah, if we got like 5% of those people we'd outsell our best selling game."
"And be rich. We could totally buy HDTVs."
"Dude, we should totally make an MMO."
"Totally."
"Dude."
You get the idea.
-
That's what I was thinking after I hit "post".
I just hope they don't stop making singleplayer RPGs.

Ah, jeez, that's too bad. I thought we'd keep getting quality SP games from them at least. Time to cash in on the property again, I guess. Long-term revenue stream. Can't blame a business for following the money. So many out there want to pay rent to live in online worlds.

Keebler, do you enjoy PvP combat in WoW more or an Elder Scrolls game?

Exactly my sentiments.

Elder Scrolls MMO Rumors Keep Swirling as Bethesda Seeks to Redact 'Secret Information'

As the Fallout MMO courtroom drama between Interplay and Bethesda continues to unfold, a recent filing has reignited the long-running rumors that Bethesda and parent company ZeniMax are readying an MMO based in The Elder Scrolls universe.
Specifically, Bethesda requests certain parts of its recent testimony be censored before the transcripts are made public, as "trade secret information" regarding "a particular game not at issue" would "destroy their value by placing them in the public domain and making them available to [Bethesda's] competitors."
Word of the filing emerged via Duck and Cover, which reports that the transcripts indicate ZeniMax Online's long-coming MMO is on a four-year development schedule and entered development in 2007, suggesting that it's due to launch sometime in 2011.
And while the identity of the MMO has yet to be officially confirmed, VG247 added fuel to the long-standing rumors, claiming it has been "very reliably informed" that it's an Elder Scrolls MMO and must be "very close to reveal by now."
