Title: So, I went and saw a Columbus Blue Jackets game.
Post by: ScaryTooth on Saturday, December 29, 2007, 10:25:41 PM
I'm not a big hockey fan. But a friend of mine gave me two tickets to the game tonight. We figured we go check it out as it was free, and something to do. It was a blast. Watching Hockey in person is so much better than watching it on TV. The atmosphere is great. We loved it so much in fact that we are going to buy some tickets for a game next month.

I think this has sort of made me a hockey fan.

I've wanted to go to a Hurricanes game for a while now but I haven't yet. Hockey is a great sport, it is definitely under appreciated in America. It's not marketable enough, and unfortunately we are force-fed our entertainment.

Did you have good seats?

I agree with how much better hockey is in person.  I can't stand watching it on TV but I've been to several Austin Ice Bats games and it was pretty fun.

I have never understood hockey despite 90% of my family playing it. I've been to some games and just sit there trying to figure out the rules. I mean, you watch baseball, football, or basketball for like 10 minutes and you can figure it out. Hockey still confuses me.

They actually played the Hurricanes last night. Jackets won 4 to 1.

Hockey games are a lot of fun.  I always enjoyed going to avalanche games.  Indoor Lacrosse is similarly fun to watch, and tickets are much cheaper.

Now lacrosse is one sport that I truly have never understood, mostly due to lack of exposure. I used to play it with my cousin in the basement when I was around 9 years old, but that mostly consisted of flinging a ball really fast towards eachother.

I saw a Blue Jackets game last year, but we were rooting for Jennie's New Jersey Devils.

Rick Nash! (http://youtube.com/watch?v=d8B4SvyV4C4)

This is from the game last night against Phoenix. Even you you don't like hockey, you have to admit that that was sick. Nash is the man.

Yeah I saw that on SportsCenter last night. Probably one of the best goals that I have ever seen.

By the way, your link is messed up.

Awesome.

Two of the best goals I've seen in recent years:

Evgeni Malkin - World Juniors (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzTd5YQ1hKk) (I can't say if this works right now)

"The Goal" (http://youtube.com/watch?v=ORzka4cStNI)
