Happy New Year to the time travelers who are already there! The rest of us will join you soon enough.

Happy New Year e'erybody!
-
Yay, I guess...

/me hugs a bottle of Cutty Sark and goes back to bed.

happy new years, just got back from a round of parties and the cats pissed on my bed. yay!

2010, hard to believe 2009 is over. Well, lots to look forward to this year though.

Like dying a slow, painful death via job-related mental necrosis. Wee...

We are now detached in time from Europe, for another hour and 10 minutes. Not doing a thing tonight either. The weather was supposed to be total shit for driving around, so we made no plans. But the temp was near 40 all day, and hardly enough rain to make it even wet. I'm at Sandy's, so no playing the new games either. She's asleep on the couch. *Sigh*
-
Aww. You could always... leave.
I know, I'm a jerk. I might be going to a BBQ after all tonight, but my friend kinda' called me a little late... so now I have to wait about an hour before I can drive. Bleh. And I'd have to leave Julia at home, which I hate to do, because she's sick with the flu. =T Sucks.

So, it's 2010...and it's just another freakin' day...
-
My calendar just leveled up.
-
ditto!

I decided to be lazy and just stay at home and drink. I shouldn't... but you know. Gotta' party every now and again. Like... uh, half the nights this last week.
Damn it.

Sandy and I ended up drinking a whole bottle of champagne. After the midnight countdown and watching the Times Square ball drop, the neighbors across the backyard set off a bunch of fireworks. Big colorful shells, right there, perfectly visible through her big bay window. It was awesome. Then we noticed Perfect North Slopes was having a display of their own. They were low on the horizon, but the colors were reflecting heavily on the misty clouds that always seem to be above their artificial snow.
The predicted snow and ice never came. It's bright and sunny today, also counter to the forecast. I'm so sick of the fearmongering local weathercasters. We should have gone out, but at least the event of the calendar level up (I like that, idol) was pretty cool.
Happy New Year to everyone! I think we're all there now.

Calendar level= Idol wins this thread.
Happy New Years all. The last one was busy. The next looks to be the same, but in a different way. I'm predicting a bit more free time this time around.

I finished half of a 750ml bottle of gin and went to bed at 4:30 in the morning. I am in pain.
-
the new year always starts with a hangover
-
The outdoors did seem way too bright when I got up this morning, late morning.
-
Actually, I am blessed with the ability to basically never have a hangover. Alcohol poisoning might be a different story, though...
-
I woke up hungover as hell at 9:30. Then we took the subway to the mummers parade. I cracked open a beer and couldnt even finish the one.
Mummers Parade is an awesome tradition. Bunch of working class philadelphians get dressed up in feathers, get bombed then march down the street in a string band. The streets are lined with everyone from families to college kids drinking off their hangover the night before. Its also the oldest parade in the US.
