Title: I can't beat the first Colossi

so do I just suck or is the game actually kind of hard?

I climbed up on the back of his leg and stabbed him until he shook me off. I've managed to get back up there a second time but I always end up trampled to death before I cause any real damage.

Once you stab the back of his leg you need to move your way up his body and find more glowy spots. You'll be able to sorta rest when you get to his back because there's something of a flat platform that you don't actually have to hold onto unless he starts shaking.

Generally the game isn't too tough once you figure out how to get up and around the Collossi. There are a few that are tricky, but nothing too bad.

Yeah, there's a bit of a learning curve to the game....mainly because the controls are a bit strange and it's really a unique form of gameplay.  Generally once you get the first colossus it gets somewhat easier just because you have a better grasp of what you're supposed to be doing and generally how you'll accomplish that.  That's not to say that the rest of the colossi aren't challenging, as each one throws something new and unique into the mix.

Great game by the way.

I think I remember dying once or twice on the first Colossi as well.

Yeah, me too.  It was pretty easy from there on out to figure out or at least guess at the various ways up the others, and that's part of the joy of it.  I was a bit miffed at how quickly the guy gives you hints about it, actually.  Should have been able to turn those off.  But yes, awesome, awesome game.

The hardest for me by far was the smaller ones.  Possibly the first smaller one, but I can't really remember the second one all that well.  Getting on that thing's back if you missed it jumping off the cliff seemed almost all luck.
