And Tigers pitcher Galarraga is one out away from a perfect game (only twenty in MLB history).
And then the worst call in the history of baseball happens. (http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20100602&content_id=10727590&vkey=recap&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb)

Damn, that's pretty harsh.

Yeah, but it happens. Sometimes it happens at the worst possible time. I'm amazed that MLB, of all sports, doesn't have an instant replay audit system in effect.
But another perfect game? What the fuck? Braden had one in May and Halladay last week. There's been 20 in pro baseball...period. That goes back before 1900. Three in one year would be outstanding, but three in one month?!

Steroid technology is improving!
p.s baseball is dreadfully boring.

The human element in officiating is still part of baseball, and should still be part of all sports. Yes he blew it and admits it. But the call stands. It's part of the experience, like a pigeon who gives its life to cost someone a home run.

The technology to do instant replay on safe/out calls at the bases has existed for a long time. Why change it now? Oh, because of the perfect game thing. That does suck, but it's the way it goes. And anyway why the hell are there so many perfect games this season? Before it started there were 18 and there would have been 21 if this call was made correctly? That is crazy.

Is pitching getting that much better, or is offense getting that much worse?

Edit: You can skip to like 40 seconds in without consequence.

He's right. :-[

Haha that was awesome. :P
And, yeah, he's totally right.
