I am approximately 1-2 hours away from a four day gauntlet of visiting, overnight stays, wrapping paper, and toddler tantrums, but I wanted to take a sec to wish all of you merry Christmas. As silly as it sounds to say you're thankful for a website, I am. We have a very nice community carved out in this small corner of the Internet and it is a most welcome part of my daily life.
If you are making resolutions for 2015 perhaps you should include "spend time in the IRC channel" among them. We'd love to see you there.

And a merry Christmas to you, buddy. One of these days I'm gonna force Pyro to drive us out to grab idol and then head your way so we can actually see you and the clan. Until then, enjoy the holidays to the utmost. Like you said, you get a very limited number of "magical" Christmases to enjoy in life ... make em count!
My best to everybody this year. It's been another hard year for me, and I know for some of you too ... but keep looking forward!

There is currently no snow outside. This makes me sad. Though apparently tomorrow we're supposed to get several inches. This makes me happy. I like a good snow for Christmas.

It only just started getting cold again after being unseasonably warm here. Like 70s. Nothing even resembling snow here ... though we've had at least a little rain! I was hoping for more snow this year just because the dogs love it so much ... but don't think that's gonna be happening.

Does anywhere else here actually enjoy the movie A Christmas Story? or does everyone just accept it as tradition and just sort of sit there and watch in agony till somebody says something so you can turn the channel?

I remember it fondly, but probably haven't seen it in 10 years, so I might change my mind if I tried to sit down and watch it.

I'm still not an adult.
Maybe its the gratuitous kid torture scenes. Or perhaps it captures the trials and tribulations of a struggling family during christmas so well it makes me feel uncomfortable.
Probably both.
