Xbox 360 softmodding.

So apparently soft modding the 360 is quite successful. Anyone looked into it yet?

Hmm, here I thought I was going to see some info.  I had no idea it had been done, or how it was done.

Well I may be getting a 360 for my bro. and will look into softmodding. From what I read it is pretty safe.

Interesting... but I'm sure it won't work if you use Xbox Live, just like the original Xbox.

Plus, software updates would brick your system if you've softmodded it.

I was just looking around for some info after seeing this thread.  Apparently the only way to flash the drive right now is by opening up the 360, voiding the warranty.  Xbox Live seems to work fine after the mod, but it doesn't really sound safe.  You might be thinking of softmodding an original Xbox, which seems to be easy and safe.
