Dude, didn't they get more than $800000 in donations during Christmas?  That's a hefty sum of money.  Still, I don't know how much it costs them to run their servers, but that's still a lot of money.

They just seem bad at fundraising.  They need to use some of the money they do make to hire people who can really get money from people.  Creative fundraisers, that sort of shit.

The article says they need $5 000 000 a year and they managed to raise 1 million.

Interesting.  It would be wierd to have an internet without wikipedia.  I'm sure they'll come up with something though even if it means going with a subscription based model.

The article says that they need $5 million a year. I'm presuming that is a worldwide sum.

Edit: Assuming they have different servers for different languages. Either way, though, its still the same amount.
