My snazzy new egg and muffin toaster
« on: Saturday, February 17, 2007, 01:43:31 PM »
My mom bought me an egg and muffin toaster recently for 7 bucks. 7 BUCKS!!!! What a steal. I put in an english muffin to toast and the some egg (beaten) and it fits together perfectly to make a homemade egg mcmuffin . There is even an option for sausage to heat on top. One of these and a cup of tea and I feel like I could run a marathon in the morning. Pic:

Haha. GPW has raved about that thing before (or was it wishing he had one).

Either way, if I was bigger on Egg McMuffin's that'd be like the best thing ever.

The biggest problem is that shit is completely unhealthy and I would eat it constantly because I love them.  I could never allow that in my house because I would die of a heart attack in a few months.  These days, my morning consists of a light breakfast with a heavy bent towards fiber.  I'll generally let myself eat eggs, but I try to keep away from the bread.  A bagel is like 5 servings or bread or something like that, so I won't even eat those, and while english muffins are better, they aren't great.

Still, if you have no health or weight issues and can get away with it, I'm sure the thing is completely awesome.

Well, I hate egg mcmuffins from McDonald's, but homemade they are amazing. I don't think they are that bad for you, either. It's just eggs and an english muffin. Lots of protein and carbs.

Which, when you eat way too much protein and carbs, is a very bad thing.  And it's nothing without sausage.  I'd have sausage on it every day because pork sausage is the best thing ever.

Yeah I keep forgetting to buy some. I have some but it's honey smoked sausage or something and I'm not a fan of it.

Just make sure you bagel/muffin/toast is whole wheat if you're worried about the carbs, and you can never have too much protein.  Eggs aren't bad for you at all, but sausage is probably one of the least healthy meats you can eat.

Thank you for reminding me to get one of these, when GPW mentioned it in the other thread, it slipped my mind.  Where did your mom buy it for $7?  I remember them being somewhat pricey.

It was something like 80% off, I think at Target? One of those stores.

Personally, I don't think I was really living before I got one of these.  It's by far the most awesome appliance in the world.

Oh, and back bacon actually works pretty well for the sausage heater up thing.  Buy a package, cook iot up all at once, and then just throw a couple slices on each morning.  Fucking fantastic.

That's awesome, but I don't really like Egg McMuffins.
