Painkiller 2 is planned for Q4 2007.

JoWood owns the rights to the PK IP now since they bought it from Dreamcatcher, so we don't know if People Can Fly will be making this one -- I hope they are, myself.

Painkiller Sequel Gets Release Date

Publisher JoWood released their first quarter 2007 financial results (in PDF format) a few days ago, revealing their game release schedule for the rest of the year. The document reveals that the sequel to the 2004 first person shooter Painkiller is now scheduled to be released in the fourth quarter of 2007. JoWood acquired the Painkiller franchise when they purchased Dreamcatcher Games in 2006 and have mentioned plans to release a sequel before but this is the first time they have announced a release schedule for the game. Details on the Painkiller sequel have still not been announced, including what development team is handling the title. Painkiller's original developer People Can Fly were creating a new game for THQ but as FiringSquad first revealed last March that game was cancelled by THQ.

I hope People Can Fly is involved, though.  I liked them.
