I'm in a slump
« on: Friday, June 15, 2007, 08:03:36 PM »
Alright so I'm tired of my current music selection and well...rock here in Nashville as far as radio stations go is quite crappy.  I'm asking for some suggestions for new bands to try out.  Typically I enjoy Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Chevelle type music.  Now, if it’s good I'll listen to metal but I can only listen to metal where the vocalist doesn't sound like a bunch of unintelligible screams. I gotta understand wtf he's saying.

Alright...feed me something to occupy my stupid head! ::)

I've been really into Say Anything and Taking Back Sunday lately.  And Monkey Majik has been running through my head for months.

haven't listened to anything new in quite a while either. recently i've just been playing the crap out of Queens Of The Stone Age, Rise Against and as always, NIN.

ok, so this thread highlighted that i've been listening to the same old shit for the last couple of months, so for the last twelve hours i've been sifting through internet radio stations and mp3s trying to find something new and interesting.

so far, i've found a couple of bands. "karma to burn" (now defunct) and "treasure cat". both bands share the same guitarist and are sans vocalist, so their sounds are pretty similar (bluesy, instrumental, stoner rock with some really great riffs).

treasure cat's music can be found here (i recommend the track "captain smirk"), and there's a video of karma to burn playing live here.
