I feel like such a middle schooler
« on: Wednesday, June 27, 2007, 06:57:24 PM »
Hung out with a girl twice now (was friends with her before, about 4 years ago, haven't talked since).  I am really digging her, and she appears to be digging me too(SUPER flirty), so I am trying to find the balls to call her up and ask her on a date.

Planning on asking her to go ice skating. Hah.
Suck it, Pugnate.

Yes, go ice skating and when you get there say "Oh, you know what? I totally forgot my ice skates. All I brought with was this box of condoms..."

There's no reason not to call her. Plus, ice skating is a pretty solid first date. I wish I had a rink around here. I've always wanted to try that angle.

Also, Idol, it's hard to skate on condoms. Oh, wait- you meant sex. I see now.

Skating on condoms is easy if you practice.  Just be careful with your hockey stops.

But yeah, skating is fun.  I used to really enjoy it, actually, when I was younger.  Didn't do figure skating or anything, but I could skate well enough to impress chicks and play a little hockey and stuff.  Just sort of stopped and never went back to it for some reason.  Haven't done it in years.  It does make a fun date, I think, however stereotypical it might seem.

I'm with Idol.  Except, instead of calling her, just sneak into her room and wake up in bed beside her.  That's the best time to proposition her.

I think I'll keep in mind to not come here for any relationship advise, should I require any in the future.

Well, it was fun.  She ended up spilling the beans about everything in her past.  And I mean everything.  This poor girl was sexually assaulted at 16 and has gone through a LOT when it comes to relationships.  Like, a ton.

We are both only around until the end of the summer(she is studying abroad in Greece, I am going back to school in DC). So, basically, we are friends for the rest of the summer because she doesn't want to get her heart broken again.

I guess in theory, I should be sad or whatever, but honestly, I'm just fine with it all.  I'm shocked that she was so upfront.  It's nice to know there are normal people out there.

that's cool you found someone real to be with during the summer.

and just thinking over what you said she said... being a girl and all.. i would say she either
- trusts you and wants to know where you stand and is seeing if you're going to hang around years to come knowing what her background is like.  testing how real and human and down to earth you are.e

- or she REALLY needed to talk to someone and get that load off her and since you're both going away..... she doesn't have to fear you using that knowledge against her or talking to someone about it.

anyway...good luck.. i hope you'll be able to keep the real people around yourself since there aren't many of them.
