Heterophobes
« on: Sunday, July 15, 2007, 10:21:39 PM »
Last night our gay friend dragged us to a bunch of parties one of the parties was an all out gayfest. When I first walked in the door, the house was screaming with gay pride. Tall, skinny guys wearing tight shirts, lots of earrings, lisps and Bud light. My friend and I got looks as if we didn't belong (which we didn't), but it was more like they didn't want us there. I basically stayed downstairs (with the girl from before who I don't like, but likes me) and played pool all night.

After we left our gay friend told us they were calling us "straighters" and "breeders", I didn't know gay people hated breeders...I mean straight people so much. It wasn't like I was rude or anything, a little out of place, but I went around smiling and introducing myself to people. Gay people are mean...

Even though it was supposed to be an insult, it didn't bother me...it actually made me laugh. Yes, by nature I am a breeder, but I don't have any kids so I technically not a breeder. Straighter is just more straight forward, I like that one better.

I love how people can justify hatred on almost any level.

"You're not like me therefore I hate you"

If someone called me some derogatory name because I'm straight, I would just point and laugh. And I would make it a huge belly laugh that completely conveyed how much I thought the situation was batshit ridiculous.

But if I were drunk I'd probably call for a good ol' fashioned fag drag.

Racism/sexism is the in thing these days. It makes you cool. Unless you're a straight, white, male.

heh, FAG DRAG!

Anyway, my current girl has several gay friends, several times we've ended up in a gay bar.  Strangely the women are always welcome, but I get no service from any of the staff.  Last weekend I requested a cab from the bartender who proceeded to ignore me until we gave up and called a cab ourselves.

I've also been called a breeder a bunch lately.  I don't think it is really intended to be an insult.

Depends on who is saying it and why.

Also, I don't get the fascination with gay bars.  I swear, every straight chick I know loves to go to gay bars.  What the fuck?  I don't get the obsession with bars in the first place (yes, let's go somewhere loud and smelly that's full of stupid people where all the booze is priced about 18 times what it's actually worth), but I get the obsession with gay bars even less.

I thought the reason that some women go to gay bars is so they don't get hit on by a bunch of guys.  I might be wrong though.

I always thought that too, but the girls I generally see do this always seem to be the type that would enjoy getting hit on as much as possible.  That, or they're the opposite type who never have a guy but constantly whine about it.  You'd think not going to gay bars would maybe solve that problem.

Also, it should be noted that the few times I've heard someone called a breeder, is was definitely meant as derogatory slang.  I should have clarified that above.

amen.

I've only gone to bars and stayed more than 30 minutes twice in my life. Once because my uncle's friend was the architect and the bar was opening.  It was this bar in an exclusive village.  Another time was with some friends and family who were invited to jam with the band.  Both times i couldn't relax at all... Never again - some friends are bar people.. they like to hang out or they play their music.. so i never go with them and haven't really hung out with them much the last 10 years.

I've never been in a gay bar, but I have been to a bar on gay night. Its completely different than any bar on any other night, its more..."lively". Usually people in bars just sit around drinking and talking to each other, gay people go nuts, get hammered and have a lot more fun than regulare bar patrons.

I love going to bars, I don't like clubs, but I love bars.
