Heh, that kicks ass. Of course, it's completely useless. What advantage does it have over the manual method, other than laziness?

No more slamming of doors when stupid people park too close? No more bikers slamming into doors in movies? I don't know, but it's damn cool!

I could see that being useful for people wanting to load bulky items into their cars, the doors do tend to get in the way sometime.  I carried out TVs for people at a previous job and not being able to fit a 24" Inch TV into someone's car because of the door not opening all the way is very annoying.

Neato.  But just as with building exits, I would insist on being able to swivel it outward manually if the mechanism fails.

I have two questions:
  • How likely is it to break, and
  • How much will I get gouged to fix it when it inevitably does?

Good questions.. Chances are if you can afford it then you wouldn't be too worried about costs.

I wouldn't want to take a crash from the side with that door. Hah.

But it's still really neat.

it's cool but something mainly for show.  It's not really very practical or convenient unless your hands are always full.

I can see them really being handy in parking situations: no more "some a-hole smashed his door into my car!!"

It's a funky idea, but is its functionality worth its cost?
