Plasmaworm released for free

Plasmaworm

Simple little game from Digital Eel (makers of the Infinite Space games). You're a worm and you move about the levels to pick up items. Each icon you take makes you longer, and you cant run into your tail as you try collect all the items. And its all trippy looking. Not bad for 2MB.

Heh, I used to kick ass at that old worm game on the PC. Collect all the apples and don't hit the bricks. :P

That takes me back.  I wrote one of these for the Atari 800, using a very blocky display mode.  It had the Tron light cycles kind of play for 2 people, as well as a 1P snake mode, where the exit (a square "hole") would pop up randomly after the whole snake made it onscreen.  That was over 25 years ago.  *Shudder*

I downloaded and installed this, but haven't played it yet.  From the readme, I take it that it doesn't have a window mode, and I don't want to do anything fullscreen right now.  I'll try it later.  Thanks for the link.

Edit: 5048 on Easy.  Every time I lost it was because I got distracted, or thought I could fit somewhere I didn't.  Not once did I crash because I had nowhere to go, or things got too hectic.  Very slow moving at this difficulty.  I hope it picks up on the others.  It also seems to use the old paletized rendering, and that has problems on current rendering hardware (not just my NVidia card either--I've noticed this sort of thing over recent years on more than one PC).  The colors will be way off on the menus, until I scroll up and down it enough to set it straight somehow.  It worked fine afterward, until I quit.  Then the colors went screwy again in the credits.  It's all good for a freebie, though.
