Topic: Tom Clancy Movies

Anybody else enjoy these? I've been watching them again. They get a tad sappy and over patriotic at times but they are neat movies. Plus I'm discovering more and more how much The Hunt for Red October blows the other ones out of the water. That one is just fucking amazing.

Yea as Xessive will testify, I am love Tom Clancy books. I've seen the respective movies a bunch of times, and they are all good, though sometimes they go Hollywood when they shouldn't.

For me, Patriot Games was probably the worse.

But I love them despite the cheese.

I liked all of the movies except Clear and Present Danger, with Hunt For Red October and Sum of All Fears being very good and Patriot Games being okay.

As far as Clancy books, I love most of them.  My favorite is Red Storm Rising, not a Jack Ryan-universe book.  Hunt For Red October was also very good as well as The Bear and the Dragon.  Rainbow Six is okay so far.

On the other end of the spectrum, Cardinal of the Kremlin and especially The Rabbit sucked.

I want to read Sum of All Fears next.

Yeah, Pug got me into the Tom Clancy world Without Remorse is probably one of the most intense books I've experienced (mainly becuase I don't find book intense in general; I read encyclopedias and dictionaries for fun).

Of the movies I like the original Jack Ryan trilogy (Hunt for Red October, Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger). The Sum of All Fears was so-so.
