Who still plays WoW?
« on: Saturday, February 20, 2010, 03:03:26 AM »
I was back on it for about 2 weeks checking out the new patch stuff, but that was like over a week ago. Raiding is still out of reach for me but hot damn are heroics fun since they are so easy to jump into now, but even that got old once I got all my triumph badges for tier 9 gear. Has anybody ran ICC all the way and killed the Lich King?

Not all the way to lich king, but I'm still playing, and raiding. My guild has 7 bosses down on 25 man, and my 10 man group has 8 down. The guild isn't that great, but I can slack off and not have to meet the ridiculous requirements that I'd have to in a more hardcore guild. For example, we don't even keep track of attendance. In a hardcore guild, 1 or 2 days missed would put me in a lower attendance bracket and I'd get passed up for gear.

I was tempted to start again because I have a free 7 days on my account.  I found out about it when I was setting up my Starcraft 2 beta, but I think I will resist the temptation of playing WoW again.

Plus, I think the game suffers a bit too much from homogenization now.  Everything feels too balanced.  I miss classic and Burning Crusade WoW where PvP was sometimes like rock paper scissors but you're forced to adapt and make the best out of the situation.

I don't see myself playing WoW again until the next expansion.
