Thanks for fixing that, I appreciate it.

Sega recently announced a new Sonic game for the PS3 and 360.  Initial screen shots had pictures of Robotnik in giant robots (even looking menacing like he used to), and early game play videos made it look like more of a traditional (read: fun) Sonic game and less of a Mario 64 rip off cluster fuck (which sums up most of the Sonic games for the last 5 years).

And then Sega released this screen and announced that a new gameplay mechanic would be that Sonic could change into a werewolf.  I can only imagine this is just the tip of the shitty game-ruining idea iceberg.

I don't get it, who is Sega trying to compete with? Why do they keep beating this dead horse?

Looks like Sega is trying to capture the goth furry market in one fell swoop.

It worked for Okami.  It worked for Twilight Princess.  It worked for Wolf Child.
Why not Sonic?

Because nothing else they've tried has worked for Sonic.  I wouldn't be worried if this was Nintendo, but Sega has a great track record of fucking up franchises lately.  Strangely enough, they're also profitable all of a sudden while all they had been doing for years was hemorrhaging money. LCD?

I don't know anything about Wolf Child but the Zelda series has been very successful in converting to 3-D (if not getting a little stale) and Okami is very similar to Zelda in many ways.

The Sonic series, on the other hand, is not and has never been a good series of games since adding the 3rd dimension.
