This is pretty cool!

Autodoor

It's a door inspired by Star Trek's sliding doors, but with some awesome features!

I remember seeing a longer video of that a while ago.  It seems like a terrible idea to me.

I probably wouldn't want one, as I like my doorways nice and static. But it does look cool.

It does look cool.  I wouldn't want it in the house, but it would be cool in like a store or something.  At least until it malfunctioned and like smashed someone.  Which would also be cool, as long as it wasn't me.

It looks like a conversation piece more than anything.  Why would a door need to open in so many individual segments?  It's not going to stop anything important that just might be outside of your silhouette.

Yeah, I don't see a real function for it. I think it's just for the look. Ideally I can see it making good use at clubs and bars.
