ahahaha. Can we turn this thread into one about stupid people in general? I ask because I heard one of the stupidest comments ever today.
Backround:
Some of the people I have the pleasure of working with are a little bit too much into the truck mentality. V8s, air intakes, lifts, complaining about gas prices when it's your own damn fault you pay $550 a month and 'don't care'. Now I'm all for one finding something they enjoy and spending money on it, but a.) you give up your right to complain about money when you spend so much of it on stupid shit and b.) there's a different between a hobby and being a retard. So anyways, As much as I like to point out I pay roughly in the area of $60-80 a month, they can still justify it. How? Well today a co-worker (26 years of age by the way) had this awesome quote:
"I like having a truck like mine (a 1983 F250 which may be the biggest piece of shit money pit I've ever seen). It gives me something to do and something to work for. I mean, if it wasn't for fixing my truck, getting new things done to it, and paying for the gas, what purpose would I have to work? I'd just be working for the sake of work."
Money quote from the same guy about three weeks ago when the police pulled him over, slapped him with an order for a vehicle inspection, and he found out he had to pay $3000 to get it back on the road:
"My sister will lend me $20,000 to put onto a mortgage downpayment, but won't lend me the same to get a new truck. What the fuck?"
Wait, I have another one from another guy:
"Hey, have you ever seen [some tv show name]? No? Ok, it's about these idiots trying to get out of debt and a financial planner tells them what to do. Well they had these fucking retards on it last night who had like $15,000 credit card debt they couldn't keep up with and what'd the guy tell them? Get a line of credit with a lower rate and consolidate. They were amazed, and I'm like what a bunch of fucking morons. Who doesn't know you do shit like that? I just bumped my credit card up to $9000 to pay for my new six inch lift and 36 tires and I'm going to pay that off with my $10,000 line of credit right away. It's just good financial sense!"
