What's a good CPU temp?

Hey what's a safe temp and or average temp' for a P4 3.2 CPU?
I've googled it but found nothing  :(

My E6400 is overclocked up to its ass and is running in the mid to late 30s.

The P4 was a very hot processor. Expect it to hit the late 40s I think.

Ok scratch that. I looked around on Anantech. At idle it is supposed to be running at around 50-54. At peak it seems to go up to 60 and a bit more.

What temps are you getting?

Seems idle at around 54-ish but when I look at it after playing WoW it seems to be 86+
I ask becuase I am having issues with this dam machine and it's down to either the PSU or the CPU.

My old computer used to run around 140 F at it's peak. It would usually shut down at those temperatures, it was never meant for such harsh climate.

86 degree Fahrenheit or Celsius?  If it's Celsius it's pretty hot.

I wonder why it is heating up. That has little to do with the PSU. What did the boys at Anandtech say? Try underclocking the rig?

It's not over clocked to start with and the CPU fan is still going so I'm wondering the same thing  ???
The PSU and the the chance of the CPU over heating have little to nothing to do with each other, its just that the CPU and the PSU are the 2 remaining parts left that I haven't investigated.
I have another PSU, loaned from a friend, so I'll try that over the weekend.

No I know it isn't overclocked, but you could try underclocking it to what it is at default. Maybe go down to 3.0 and see if that makes a difference?

If your bios allows it, make sure you save your current settings first.
