They're no worse than any of the others, just have a different demographic they're trying to sell to.
The fear is what Cobra said, except I think that's putting it too simply. The climate-change issue and lots of others have given the government a place to do its usual thing, which is to find any inch and take a mile. I'm absolutely an environmentalist and animal-rights activist, far more than most of you, but you have to be objective about the shit. The government wants to control everything, and just giving something a green label doesn't make it a good thing. Lots of bad stuff is happening right now in the name of the environment, when it's often just an excuse to lower standards or make things from cheaper materials (which can sometimes end up being more harmful in the long run).
I'm not going to read those links either because I can't even imagine what the fuck they're talking about when it comes to games, but I do think that blind worship of the earth is a bad thing. It's scare-mongering of the highest order when it comes to politics, just like terrorism. It doesn't matter what the reality is. All that matters is how afraid you can make people. Which isn't to say that the earth isn't in trouble or that terrorism is fake. Both are real threats, it's just that the government wants to use them against you.
