hah for the first bit it looks like a parody. I'll watch it because Jackie Chan is funny.

Anyway, while we all loved the original as kids, I am sure upon another viewing as adults, we'd be cringing throughout.

I know it's partly born from Chinese martial arts, but modern Karate is Japanese.  I think Okinawans came up with it., and it's moved further into its own areas since then.

Also, I like how since the movie has black people, the whole trailer has to be filled with redundant, predictable hiphop beats.

"Let's go to another country where we completely stand out from the indigenous people, and when they make fun of us like we maybe could have predicted before we moved, let's learn how to kick their asses AMERICAN STYLE!  Except you know, not American style.  Chinese style.  Even though it's called Karate and it's from Japan."

Fuck this movie.

Jackie Chan sure looks different, though.  It looks like it might not be a bad role for him, which is a shame.

If you want to see a good new Jackie Chan movie see Shinjuku Incident.  Just don't expect any kung fu because it's not a martial arts film.

Back on topic -- this looks like trash.
