Death penalty for spamming
« on: Saturday, January 02, 2010, 01:55:21 PM »
Someone make it happen!

Some shit is using a hotmail account to send me emails that look like they're coming from Blizzard. They all say stuff about my account being suspended, banned, etc, for breaking the WoW ToS, and that I should visit the listed address to contest it. The address shows as www.blizzard.com, but when I hover it I can see it's some close, but obviously not legit blizzard url (like www.safeblizzard.com and shit).

So this is obviously a scam to hack my accounts. I know this, and I even have a Blizzard authenticator. (little device that I press a button on to generate a 6 digit code. I have to put that in when I log in) So this bitch isn't getting my account, but it would be nice if I could stop the spam.

Won't sending it to Junk get it out of your face?  That usually works for me.

OK I guess this is just me getting all OCD, but it still bugs me there. They've all been showing up in my spam folder since I marked the first one as spam, but it bugs me that I'm still getting them. I do check that folder when I see something there, just in case something important gets mistaken for spam by Google. (this is a gmail account btw)

It says it's from accounts@blizzard.com or something like that, but when I tell it to show me more info it says it's from Hotmail. I'm not sure if there's a way to block that address without missing out on REAL Blizzard mails, because it's masked.
