I saw some LBG on Saturday at EBGames.  I didn't get it though -- not sold on the concept.  Sure it's a fun platformer, but I hear the 'main story' is short and that the bulk of the content is from either playing user created content or creating stuff yourself.  The former -- could be a while before some good stuff starts showing up and the latter -- not really interested in spending hours and hours to create a level.

Some great levels showed up in the beta.  It'll take much less time than you think.  In fact I just played other peoples levels the whole time, never bothered creating one of my own.

Picked up my copy during lunch today.  Very excited.

I'm excited-ish, but waiting until a lull.  If I bought it now I just wouldn't play it.

LBP is arguably the most charming game I've ever played!

Definitely worth a look, but as you say Que, wait till you can devote yourself to it.

The servers are "up".  Too bad they're being taxed to death.

I thought these were the kinds of things you had betas for.  eesh.

Just got the update and now the game is so buggy. It hangs and stutters every few minutes, especially when there's any network activity. Hopefully it's only due to the overwhelming traffic and will wear out soon.

So yeah, the problems Xessive mentioned are pretty much gone now after a recent patch and the online stuff works great.  The amount of content that is up is astounding and surprisingly there is a lot of good, solid levels already that are a blast to play through.  I've been playing through custom levels for about 3 days now and I've barely scratched the surface of what's on there now.

Just updated 1the latest version (1.03 I think) and the aforementioned bugs are pretty much gone. It still kinda hiccups on some connections but I think that's mostly due to inevitable lag from remote connections. Otherwise it works like a charm.

The game is a lot of fun in multiplayer. It's definitely built for it. It can get tricky at some points when you're trying to work together to accomplish certain tasks but it's very managable. The only bit that gets awkward at times is the camera when the players get too far apart. Basically it always tries to keep all characters on-screen at all times so it zooms out a bit but it only goes so far; often resulting in jump-misses. I wonder if they can add a camera option that autmatically splits the screen like Bionic Commando: Rearmed.

Just started playing this and so far I'm loving it. Tons of fun and really original. Also quite humorous. It's the little stuff so far that makes this game so great. The facial expressions are priceless, and the costumes are a nice touch. Haven't had this much fun with a platformer in a long time.
