Because laptops aren't cool enough.

So its got a touchscreen and a fancy keyboard that can change the images under the keys (I think the keyboard is almost like an iphone screen, but with raised parts). Kind of neat but it'd probably cost like 2 grand.

That's pretty sexy looking, I have to admit.

Kinda neat, but I would hate to use it for typing anything since the keys are aligned in a grid instead of staggered.

I think theres another problem with it that is not immediately noticable, and in fact is touted as a feature: non-standard input. I must admit its cool to have icons on the keys. I don't press the 1 key to launch a spell, I press that spell key! Amazo!

Except how does the game relay this information to you? How do all games? When a game says "To bring up the map, press M" that easy since all keyboards are the same so you know where the M key is. On this device pressing the "Map Icon" is going to require you to look for it, at least until you get used to its location. Of course, its location might be different in another game so you're back to square one. Its the same reason the Jump button on a gamepad is usually the same button no matter what game you're playing.

Of course its a PC so hopefully you can remap the keys to whatever you want so you can keep some consistency between titles. Then its not so bad.
