I wanna comment more on DA, but I don't wanna give away too much and ruin it for you :P So all I'll say is that it had a lot of good ideas but the bugs really tarnished it.

Well, well.....MyD began playing Double Agent last night and has been playing it today, as well.

Other than the fact the game is running in 640x400, yeah -- this game's been pretty good, so far.

I must say, the Tanker mission was awesome -- especially when breaking the ice, getting up out the ice, then pulling enemies right into the ice-cold water and taking them out!

Right now, I'm doing the mission In The Hotel in Shanghai -- so far, that mission's been pretty good, as well. The part when you were scaling the huge building was awesome.

That's the best part of the game.  The rest of the game is very mediocre in my opinion.

I really enjoyed the hotel part too. The tanker was good, and I liked the cruise ship mission as well.

I think the two most annoying parts of the game were the Double Agent stuff at the JBA HQ and the broad-daylight missions.

Which turns out to be like 90% of the game.

I shut it off, after a few mins of it. I couldn't take it.

This mission goes on too long.

It's almost as tedious as the Dead To Rights PC mission where you try and defuse a bomb; that mission takes forever.

It's alright, but the time limit can be an issue.

So, yeah -- I finished the game tonight -- yay! It was good.
Especially the last few chapters.

Still not as good as Chaos Theory, though.

Regardless, so when's ConViction planned???

I'm ready for Conviction!!!

I grabbed the Splinter Cell HD pack for PS3 and it came with Splinter Cell, SC Pandora Tomorrow, SC Chaos Theory, SC Double Agent, and SC Essentials for PSP. For $29.99, not a bad deal if you're a fan. The HD revisions are not bad, most just higher resolution and widescreen support.. Chaos Theory is still by far the best.

Anyway, I revived this thread to specifically talk about Double Agent. Now, I have bitched a lot about Ubisoft screwed the PC players by selling us a half-baked pile of steaming code. Now that I have finally played the console version properly I have seen that PC and console players were equally screwed! The game performance is crap no matter what platform you play it on. On PS3 I get occasional stuttering, low fps, shoddy effects, the whole mess. Really evident that Ubi shit over everybody with Double Agent, PC and console alike.

I just had to get that out there so I can sleep at night.

What about the 360 version? Did that get screwed-up, too?
A lot of times when games are multi-platformed - X360 is the lead; PS3 and PC versions are after-thoughts.

I really don't expect much from UbiSoft Shanghai in terms of technical-stuff, honestly...

Ubisoft Shanghai have proven time and time again that they cannot deliver quality.

They're primarily set up to make ports/adaptations and provide support for other dev teams. It's pretty clear that when they're handed a full project they find a way to muck it up; the two leading examples are Pandora Tomorrow and Double Agent (the latter being the worst).
