DOS Screenshot Challenge

How well do you do?

I got 35/50. Some were lucky guesses. Some were unlucky guesses. The worst were things like "Heres a screenshot of a golf/flight sim game you never played. Which of these golf/flight sims is it?" So I guessed on pretty much all of those.

ROFL I got 8 correct. I guess I was more into Atari and NES back then.

27/50. I had no idea on tons of them and just guessed. A few I was able to get or at least whittle down the possibilities based on clues in the screenshot. Very few I actually knew.

But I did know and play both the golf and football games.

I knew the one was between Crusader No Remorse and Syndicate, but I had to take a guess because I didn't know well enough to tell them apart. I guessed wrong.

Also that Wing Commander vs Wing Commander II was evil.

21/50.

Most were just guesses.  I was not a PC gamer back in the day.

I got 36. At least 2/3 to 3/4 of those were legit, the rest guesses. I never played sim or wargames really, so I got basically all of those wrong. A lot of them I knew right off the bat when I saw them, and man, at least a couple of those were fucking obscure. I played the shit out of Electroman, but who the hell else remembers that? Though to be fair, that's probably less obscure than Heartlight and Robbo, the two it was sold in a pack with from Epic back in the day.

Haha I was stuck on DOS for a year back in 1996! Windows '95 just died and I was stuck in DOS until I acquired enough knowledge from Windows Magazines to mess with the boot files.

Honestly though, much of those were games I saw or played at my cousin's place, when he got his whimsical 486 machine, good times :D Whacky Wheels addiction!

The fact that there is anyone else on earth that remembers Whacky Wheels seems crazy to me.

33/50. I'm really surprised I did as well as I did. Guessed on a bunch of them. I only played maybe 6 or 7 games on there, but I remember seeing screenshots for a bunch of them in old pc gaming magazines.
