Space is amazing. One of my first classes for school is astronomy. I'm looking forward to it.

One of the most amazing things about that whole picture, besides the obvious fact that space is so massive, is about how far the Voyager 1 probe is.  It has been traveling since 1977 and is still not out of our Solar System!  It is actually STILL sending signals back here to Earth and is projected to send them here until 2025.

Exactly. That's what I mentioned to my brother last night. The fact that Voyager 1 is so far out! Amazing how that thing is still functional! The space thing didn't fascinate me as much as how far are creations are out there. Just the idea that something man created has been traveling for so many crazy years and is so far is just mind boggling.

I wish the Obama hadn't castrated NASA. That's really depressing. :(

An airplane only 11km up seems so close now. :)

How did the highest skydiver dive from a height greater than the highest plane? :P

edit:

What is stunning is that both Voyagers are still under command. How are these things under control? How are they being connected to?

Yeah, I also started reading about the Voyager missions after this.  Pretty fascinating stuff.

It's too bad that awesomeness didn't carry over to Star Trek Voyager.

I liked it. I used to watch that whenever I was trying to waste time before doing homework. That's how I got into Enterprise as well.
