I saw this news today on Ars Technica, and my first impression was that it was something I'd obviously heard of before but couldn't place. I kept thinking of Salon.com, I later realized. Then it hit me.
I could care less about the sale, but the thing that got me was that I hadn't even thought of or heard of the site for literally years. And that's crazy! Remember the Slashdot effect? It's shocking how fast things can change.
