Topic: Snakes On A Plane

I'm not even going to devote any time to describing this movie, but please be warned that it absolutely sucks.  I mean Samuel L. Jackson does a good job being a badass, but even that can't save this movie.

It's, "Oh look!  Snakes!  They're everywhere!  They're killing people!"  Then a half hour later: "Yep.  Still snakes everywhere killing people."  Another half hour:  "More snakes..."  And then a half hour after that:  "Zzzzzzzzzzz."

I couldn't bear to watch more than an hour and fifteen minutes of the movie.  Netflix should be able to give monthly subscription refunds for any of their customers that mistakenly thought this movie might be entertaining, and then sue the studio to get their money back or something.  It is that bad.

You do know it was supposed to be stupid and cheesy, right?  That being said it wasn't as funny as I thought it was going to be but I still did laugh at several parts, especially the bathroom scene.  I thought it was still entertaining enough for one watch.

It was supposed to be funny too?  Holy crap.  It missed that by a mile as well.

I don't care what the point was.  I definately would have walked out in the theater.  Then again, I didn't go see it in the theater because I knew it was going to be stupid.  I thought by now my expectations for the movie were low enough for me to watch and maybe even enjoy the movie.

Clearly you had no concept of why the movie even existed.  It wasn't meant to satisfy any of the things you were apparently looking for.  It was a stupid, fun movie, the kind of thing you go to the theater to see with friends and spend the entire time laughing at the ridiculousness of it.  I saw it and had a good time, but it was definitely something that had to be watched with a group of friends of the same mindset for mockery.

Well, whatever the purpose of the movie was doesn't really matter does it?  I thought it sucked whether it was supposed to be funny, cheesy, actiony, a drama, a thriller, whatever.  If the movie's point was to be as fucking stupid as possible as you all seem to be saying, then I guess on that front it succeeded admirably.  But I was not able to get any enjoyment at all out of it.

Don't get me wrong, I can appreciate over-the-top movies whose sole purpose is to be bad and ridiculous.  I highly enjoyed Peter Jackson's first movie:  Bad Taste.  That I could laugh at.  Whatever Bad Taste had Snakes was sorely lacking, at least IMO.

I laughed my ass off in the theater and then passed out drunk just after yelling at a group of teenage girls "I'll put my snake in your plane!"

I believe I've illustrated the point and success of the film.

Just rented and watched. I can totally see it being a great movie to watch with buddies to laugh at all the stupid stuff.
