Story

We went over they yesterday and saw it. Pretty nasty, several charred birds laying around.

That's too bad, have they confirmed the cause yet? The article says that it might have been a wood stove.

Wood stove was some other chicken coop that burned this week. She figures a turkey knocked one of the heat lamps down onto the straw which burst into flames.

KFC anyone?

... okay, that was in poor taste.  And after that, I imagine so are the chickens!

... god damn it.  I need to stop.  Okay.  Seriously, that sucks.  How much monetary loss does that all equal?  It's a decent number of chickens for sure, but how big was the coop?  Will it take a lot of money to rebuild?

The coop was inside this old barn they had. I think they are moving soon-ish anyway, so probably wont rebuild. Chickens are pretty cheap, actually. In the spring you can get chicks for like $1 each.

And dont worry, I was making all those same jokes yesterday as well.

Damn.  Sorry to hear that.  Hope your aunt isn't a wreck because of it.
