hahaha I am tired of eating that stuff. Dhals, samosas, purees and stuff rock but I've been having too many of those.

Hmmmm... I used to do more cooking when I wasn't alone but nowadays with my sister away on vacation I am just eating out. Can't be bothered to cook for just myself. My sister gets stomach upsets easily so it is better to give her home cooked food.

I can't believe you can't find a shop that sells Dhals. Very easy to make too.

That last pic looks like Yemeni parathas. Those are basically parathas that are made around minced meat and omelets.

Or you can just make some tomato chutney.

Fry some onions till they are golden brown and then add a half kg of tomatoes. Add some medium sized green chillies with some red pepper powder, salt and whatever seasoning you like. Just stir fry it a bit and it makes for some awesome chutney that is very quickly made.

You can eat that with parathas, dosas or just rice.

Get some velveeta cheese, a little chili, and some sour cream, mix it together and it makes a great dip.

well Pug, I'm tired of chutneys haha.. I have tamarind chutney in my fridge all the time.  I love tomato chutney with yogurt and pakoras. omg.

The problem is I can't make any of the dhals cause I don't really have the spices here or the beans. i have to travel to somewhere to get the beans if I wanted to make. I just have a tree with curry leaves.  that's about it.

the last is chinese flat bread with spring onions.. it's wonderful stuff.

hmm.. can you make parathas?

Just travel around with Shaan Daal Curry Mix. It has everything in it. :P

Parathas are pretty easy to make. Parathas with a fried egg and some tomato chutney is so freakin' awesome. mmmmmm...

I also love Dosas.

na, but apparently it's very similar to marmite, which i love. if you haven't already, try it in cheese toasties, it's delicious.

almost every north american i've talked to seems to loathe the stuff though.

My dad was hardcore into marmalade. What he would do is eat about four oranges in the evening, keep the skins nice and clean and then slice them into tiny bits. He would then add them to the marmalade he would eat at breakfast the following morning.

Vegemite is horrible. My sister brought some back from Australia. Apparently the Aussies eat it on everything.

Vegemite is an acquired taste.  I eat it with toast and butter.

But sometimes i prefer Marmite or Promite.  They even have mightmite which is for kids. Problem with Mightymite is that it seems to have an awful lot of cornstarch and water.

eewww Pug, marmalade with orange skins?

I like jam, cheese, peanut butter and butter together.

Anything with orange is awesome ;D

Ooh kumquats are great! They're like tiny cherry-size oranges! Yeah, I know their name kinda sounds dirty (or it could just be my dirty mind :P) though the name kinda sounds like it would be a cousin of Queequeg (from Moby-Dick) or something :P Queequeg and his cousin Kumquat!
