Moving out is looking better each day
« on: Thursday, March 22, 2007, 01:31:18 AM »
So my roommate is getting a dog. I was totally against the idea, but who the fuck am I to say? If her life of studying, going to class, working, and her boyfriend wasn't enough, hey lets throw a dog in the mix. Nevermind the fact she doesn't spend a whole lot of time in the apartment in the first place, hell Im probably going to see more of the dog than she is. Oh and to top it off, getting a pet and looking for an apartment in Cookeville is the equivalent of shooting yourself in the foot. These apartments are one of the few places where you can have a pet. Now I don't hate dogs, but throwing this in my living space against my approval sets a little uneasy with me. She's going to pick it up on Saturday and I know when she locks it in her bathroom for the first week or so its going to whine and bark to no end.

Unless you are a pet person, and I think your post makes it clear that you aren't, I'd confront her about it.  You are going to hate the situation with a passion, so you may as well invest some passion into prevention.

I think if your roomie doesn't have your permission then she has no right to do that at all.

That's pretty screwed up to be honest. If I were you I'd be shocked at my roomate bringing a pet into the apartment without my full approval.

Yeah, that kinda' sucks.  I mean, I love dogs and would never refuse having one in the house just because Julia and I *can't* have one but would *kill* for one... but if you don't want one around, they aren't something you can easily ignore.

hahahhaha... oh my god he is so CUTEEEEEE!

He looks like a little toy dog I had as a kid.

I want him. What kind of dog is he?

Also I hope you still discussed your feelings with your roomie. At some point or another the dog (being an animal) will do something you won't like, and you may resent your roomie just then. If you are accepting this extremely CUTE animal, then be prepared to take the bad with your chin up.

It is too cute though. She should name it Knut after that cute polar bear cub:

it looks kinda like a retriever/labrador but it's too small to be one.. that's adorable.  you can poison the roommate and have the pup all to yourself?

Just wait until he pees on your bed and chews on your computer wires to make up your mind.

That's close to my own thoughts on it.  Puppies are very cute the first day through the door.  What comes after that separates the diehard pet lovers from the rest of us.

All pains are worth the reward of puppy.  Maybe I'm showing my softer side, but I miss my dog more than I miss almost anything, so sue me.

And where are all the beer stains, burn holes, and mystery damage spots in your carpets?

The carpet was replaced right before we moved in. I'm sure the dog will put an end to that.
