The new apartment
« on: Thursday, May 10, 2007, 11:07:33 PM »
So its just me now. My roommate moved out, I think she still has some little things here and there lying about but this is it. I'm on my own now. I'm free. Right now I'm blaring Andrew WK music and Im about to down a six pack of beer and start dancing madly around the apartment. Kinda like this guy.

Anyway, I have paid the deposit on the new apartment, I plan on going to the electric place tomorrow to pay for turning it on. I get the keys on Tuesday, I plan on taking some pics of it on that day. Then on that Thursday and Friday I move.

So I'm excited as all get out.

Awesome!  So your roommate moved out of the old place and then you're moving also?  That seems to have worked out nicely.  Can't wait to see what the new place looks like!  I'll help you move in spirit.

That's cool man, sounds like your roommate was doing nothing but stressing you out.  I just moved too, in April.  You're going to be living by yourself now, right?

Alright so I got everything paid for and I picked up the keys today. So now the packing can begin. I swung by to drop some stuff off and took 2 shots of it.

Thats pretty much the whole place right there. One shot is from the living room area and the other is from the other side in the bedroom area and in the middle is the kitchen space. I think I just about know where I want to put all the furniture. The dining table I have will be put in the bedroom area and I'm going to use it as my painting table, my desk is just way to cluttered for it. Anyway, I really like, I can't wait to get everything in.

I so miss having my own tiny place.  My old place was *too* tiny, but it was the most awesome living space you have ever seen.  My gameroom is absolute shit in comparison.  It makes me sad as there are almost no pictures, and the ones I do have are from toward the end when I just had so much crap there was nowhere to put anything.

Anyway, looks great!  I'm sure you're going to have a blast!

Also, OWmeet 2008 is at your house.   :-[

How the hell did I miss this last week?

Congrats and all that sort. I, personally, am happy to hear that you'll have the space for a painting table.

I would kill to have space for a painting table.  It's like I've just stopped trying to even do it at home these days...

You've got some nice Black Mesa flooring there. Seems every house has checkerboard tile in it.

Well I'm doing the final packing, which includes the computer. This is gonna be my last transmission. I setup a schedule last Friday with Charter to come and set me up with internet for this Friday so hopefully if it all goes smoothly I won't be gone but a day. The big move is tomorrow, so see you on the other side.

Hooray, I got all my furniture moved! Hooray, I got my computer hooked up! And somehow as an unexpected bonus, I have internet, w00t! This is a silly question. If your using the same cable modem, but at a different address, am I still able to hook up to internet to a place that has cable?

Same thing happened to Sy. I just hope that when the cable guy comes tomorrow he doesn't do something over on his end that messes it up. The only thing I can think of is that when I scheduled the appointment, they already turned it on and all the cable has to do is bring his cable wiring and hook stuff up, which in this case he won't need to because I have enough of it.

Well, that explains why you're on Googletalk.

Yeah, that's pretty close to how it worked out with me. I'm not remembering details, but I think when I hit the snag wasn't until a few days after we had the switch. The cable guy here showed up, saw things were working, did a few checks, and was more or less on his way because everything seemed like it was in order. Then, a few days later it could no longer get an internet connection. I assume what happened was a connection with the previous tenate was never severed and we got on through his thing. When I lost my connection, I think someone finally got around to flipping whatever switch was there to end his account and then turned mine off in the process. A (relatively) quick phone call solved the problem, but it stumped the guy on the other end as to why it actually happened. All we both knew was a reset on both ends fixed everything... at least that's sort how I remember things going down. It's already a bit fuzzy in my mind.

But, congrats again. Enjoy building the place now. Either that can be really fun or sorta annoying... I'm still waiting on Aimee to finish some of her stuff. That's annoying.

Alright so Im pretty much settled in. I got the art I bought framed and put up. The guy who framed it was someone local that was recommended. He did an awesome job and at a nice cost. So without much further ado here it is:

This is the living area, I chose to put the desk in here along with the TV for multi entertainment purposes.

Heres where I play Guitar Hero till the wee hours of the morning. This is taken from a different corner in the living area.

This would be the bedroom area with the desk with stuffs on it. The boxes have the painting tools and figurines in them. Some day... I will paint again.

I mainly took this to show off the Totoro wall scroll. He watches intently for any unexpected guests.

So thats it, small place but definitely comfy.

Heh, I just showed the pics to Julia and she completely hates me/you now because you got that Silent Silhouette picture and the Totoro wall scroll, and she's wanted both of them for like a couple years now and we just haven't gotten them... heh.  Anyway, the place looks great!  Enjoying it well so far?

What is that piece of art that is between the Fear Factory poster, and the Evil Dead poster?

I guess I'll just show what I got. The one your talking about is Come September and the one Que mentioned is Her Silent Silhouette. The other two are City Escape and Collab - Artificial - The Hub.

I dig. Seems cozy and all that sort.

How are the Deviant Art prints. Aside for the art being nice, is the actual print quality worth the price they tend to charge?
