Home again - ZOMG PICS

And very tired. I'll get pics up soon-ish and some other jibba-jabber about the trip. Not terribly exciting, but I had fun.

Still off-loading the camera. I took over 400 pics this trip. Gotta sort through them and pick the good ones.

I'm not going to do a big writeup or anything about this trip. Went to a wedding party (ok, two of them.), the family reunion, and just hung around with family the whole time. Not too much of note, except the rental car had an issue. You know those new fangled sensors that make a dinging sound when you're backing up to let you know how close you are to whatever is behind you? Well, it got broken and would do that all the time, forward or reverse. We took it to the local dealership and they couldnt fix it, and the closest Avis was in Grand Forks. Normally not a big deal, but we weren't staying there all week like we usually do, and being the 4th they didnt have any replacement cars readily available. Plus this car had the nicest seats ever so we didnt want to get rid of it. Turns out disconnecting the battery and leaving it off for 10 minutes causes the cars computer to reboot, which fixed the problem. It did it again later so we rebooted it again. Its discount time on our rental when we turn it in, though.

So enough rambling...pics!

This trip I ended up taking 418 pics. These are the ones I like the most. The rest are "doubles", family reunion snaps of people you won't care about, or pics of my cousin who likes to have her picture taken. Hey, good practice for me since I dont do a lot of portrait type stuff otherwise.

First up: sunset!

Same sunset, but with my younger cousin eating the sun.

Same sunset, just slightly lower and zoomed in across the field.

Greenbush, where the wedding parties were. The star shows how far north it really was.

ZOMG ME!

Bored at the wedding party, I made my younger cousin a noose out of the pretty ribbon that held the eating utensils together.

Windmill at the family reunion place.

Creepy Silent Hill-style wheelchair. I wanted a better picture of it in this barn but good lord the mosquitoes were horrible.

Flowers!

My cousin was putting flowers in her hair and dropped one on the gravel. I thought it looked kind of neat like that.

My cousin on the side of the road by grandmas. Yes, its kinda remote.

Probably my fave pic out of them all, a field of daisies.

Cousin by the river at sunset.

These lillypads were much cooler in person.

Sunset! Again! It happens every day!

At a 4th of July parade a clown stuck a firefighters badge to my forehead. True story.

Apparently I'm good at taking flower pictures. I think I need to expand my picture taking horizons a little. Like...boobies would be good.

My cousins dog and legs. Mostly dog.

Oh yeah, this one turned out surprisingly well. My cousin was putting on makeup before we went to take pictures. Did I say "before"? I meant during! I took like 20 shots of her putting makeup on just to get this one. Ah, photography is fun. Kind of. It was a bitch trying to keep myself from showing in the mirror.

Yay for pics!  That wheelchair is cool, you should have taken it and put it in your basement, so you could have a chair and scare people with it.

This time of year, they can strip a fully-grown cow down to bones in thirty seconds. Also global warming has caused them to evolve to be the size of blackbirds.

Going through the pics full size I've noticed my camera has developed a hot pixel. Crap, this is going to annoy the hell out of me. Maybe a good excuse to get me a DSLR...hmmm.

I love digital, though. Some quick math: 418 pictures is 17.5 rolls of 24 exposures. The cost to develop all that would be over $100 not even counting the cost of the film itself.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention some goodies I got. I helped my cousin move some stuff so she gave me some cool stuff.

First, a Gameboy Color. I've always wanted one, and especially now that I have a GB Camera. She also gave me a copy of Tetris and then some crappy Sabrina the teenage witch game.

She gave me her stuffed Invader Zim and Gir, both are the large sized ones they made. Gir is the robot Gir, but she also gave me a smaller dog suit version of Gir. So cute. Also a couple Gir patches, a Gir lanyard, and Gir shoelaces.

I also got some old MP3 player that she says she could never get working, so I'll mess around with that.

As for things I purchased myself, the Wal-Mart up there had a Wavebird GC controller for $16 so I snapped that right up. Never had a wavebird before, so this is awesome.
