PownceI'm a whore for new internet shit, I'm always looking for new stuff to check out...even if I never really use those things.
In my travels I came across
Adobe AIR. Its this framework thingy for people to make little programs using existing web development like Flash, Ajax, javascript, etc. Theres some neat stuff, like a little client for
Adobes Kuler, a color theme...site...editor...thingy. I was like, hey thats cool...what else is there? Several Twitter apps if you're into that sort of thing, a Mii Editor thats kind of fun to play with, a Digg news app that you can customize and show stories in certain categories/keywords. Just some neat little things...usually under 1MB.
Anyway, one listed as a great app was the client for Pownce. Obviously I had to check this out, but Pownce is currently invite only. Bummer. Luckily LifeHacker had a story on a site called
InviteShare where people share invites for sites, Pownce being one of the big ones currently. So I sign up and got myself a Pownce invite. Hooray. And now Pownce has given me 6 invites to give out.
Its a strange combination of Twitter, blog, Facebook, and file transfer. You can post messages like Twitter/blog, post links, create an "Event" that people can RSVP, and files up to 10MB for all your friends. Not sure how useful it'll be for anyone, if its useful at all, but I just had to try the little program out.
