Happy Thanksgiving (for real)!
« on: Thursday, November 22, 2007, 01:29:18 PM »
I'm very thankful for the community we have here.  I've made many good friends and met a lot of people I love and respect.  Cheers to all of you.

Hope everybody has a great day.  Mine has started about as shitty as I could have wanted, but hopefully it'll get better.  In either event, after food and such is done I plan to stay up and play more Witcher until my eyeballs bleed and fall out.  Hooray!  As for now, I have my coffee, my wife, and my rat.  What else could I ask for?

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

This will probably be the last holiday I get to spend with my family for a while, so I'm trying to enjoy what I can.  Fortunately no matter where I go I'll always have you freaks to keep me company.

My Thanksgiving with the family was yesterday. It was pretty cool, no relatives, just the parents and brothers. I got to meet the mother of my future nephew, she was really nice. After we ate we played some eucker, it was me and my brothers girlfriend against my two other brothers, we cleaned house and she had never played before. My mom also bought me a mini christmas tree for my apartment, it glows and stuffs. I'll probably post a pic of it later.

That sounds nice.  We're going to my sister's, but there was drama because one of her kids might be sick and Julia is worried she's going to catch something... but we don't know because the kids are allergic to *everything* and might just have eaten something.  So we're going to just go and hope for the best since he seems to be okay now after a couple hours.  Also, my brother in law's weird sister is coming, which sort of sucks.  Her daughter is a sweetheart, but they're kinda' trailer trashy (which is weird because his family is more on the yuppie side).  Anyway... we'll see.  If nothing else, she and I will probably end up talking metal (she used to hang out with Dave Mustaine back when he was still crazy, because I guess he was boinking her roommate).

I just got back from my family's place, it was a small gathering of just my parents, my sister and brother, and I.  Good food and played some Guitar Hero III with my brother and helped my little sister play parts of Shadow of the Colossus.

Happy thanksgiving!!

Concert may not happen because of bad weather.  That's okay.  I'm going to stay home and eat and get fat.

What else am i thankful for? OW, the internet, good weather, happy family, and not having allergy attacks today.
Taken.

I drove down to So California last night and woke up this late this morning to a nearly finished meal. I bought some painting down to get done, but then I realized I forgot my black so I get to head out to a local gamestore tomorrow to get a little.

We just finished dinner and it was pretty good. It was decided that we'd take a break before desert. On top of the usual pumpkin pie, I brought down a princess cake (white cake with cream and a marzipan shell) which should be awesome.

Happy Thanksgiving all. May the turkey only put you to sleep before you can enjoy the deserts.

Happy Thanksgiving guys! Mine kind of sucked because I have strep throat so I haven't been able to eat a lot, but other than that, everything was cool I guess. Cheers to everyone here and hope all of your Thanksgivings are awesome.

Ours turned out nice.  My sister actually did a great job with the food, like nobody showed up except for Julia and I, and the kids were both being really good and happy.  My nephew never gave me so many hugs in his life.  I swear those two are the only kids I've ever really thought were cute, and even they grate on my nerves at times... but it was a happy family evening today.  Mom and her dad + his wife came over afterward for dessert, so that was cool too. We had to leave early because Julia wasn't feeling well, which was no surprise, but that was okay by me.  I generally hate staying too long, so it was just about right.  Good stuff.

Now I get to waste time on video games.  Hooray for life!

Happy Thanksgiving all!

My new girlfriend (see other thread) invited me to spend the weekend with her in her hometown (we attend college together).  I was really, really anxious before heading out, as it seems like a huge step to not only meet her family, but live with them for like half of a week.

So far, though, everything has been going well.  I haven't really set out to "prove" myself to be worthy to them, I think, which has helped.  They have all really enjoyed having me around.  Her dad loves me because I am studying International Affairs and talked with him when he gets stupidly drunk.  Her mom loves me because I am polite, courteous, and sweet.  I played Monopoly with her sisters and they seem to like me too.  I was talking with her brother, and he doesn't seem to be quite the asshole that I thought he was (standard overprotective army guy).  Met the grandparents and they called back to tell her mom how much they enjoyed me.

Victory!  She's sympathized with me because I listened to her father's rantings and ravings for a few hours when he got really drunk.  And she's been saying all weekend how amazing I am and how much this means to her, etc.
Suck it, Pugnate.

I got back from my brother's about a half hour ago.  We had a nice time and a great dinner.  Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.  It's a bit late to get into a game now, and I'm tired.  Plus they have a dog, so my allergies flared up, and I don't feel too hot right now.  I may just go to bed soon, and hope I fall asleep.

I think I've put on 5 pounds after my week-long visit to my grandma's.  I left her house today.  Thanksgiving was the biggest party we had and it may be the last one that my grandma will be around for.  She looks very tired but she was very happy that everyone was there.  I hope she'll make it to Christmas.  Christmas is her all-time favorite holiday.  I don't think I'll be around for it though.

Dog allergies.. ouch..
Taken.

Yeah, dog dander affects me worse than anything else.  The worst part is that it triggers asthma, something that so rarely affects me now that I don't think about carrying an inhaler.  Fortunately, there was an open CVS drugstore nearby.  Primatene mist does it for me.  We stayed at my brother's for about 11 hours, though, and eventually my sinuses rebelled as well.  Oi.
