I take it you've never head of Coast to Coast AM before.  It's a pretty good bet that portal technology was one of the more sane topics that night.   It's a full out conspiracy theory/paranormal show and the host is pretty much paid to just let people speak and agree with them. It's hard to say if the host ever buys into it or just thinks it's bullshit and takes home a paycheck. 

But, once...a few years ago a caller scared the shit out of Art Bell.

hehe sweet.  good old coast to coast.  I used to listen to it when I worked nights back in the day.  Crazy for sure but it definitely makes for good listening.  Occasionally they'll have actually scientists come on the show and talk about stuff which I always found to be the most interesting.
