I agree about baby Mario, Navi and maybe even Mr Resetti. The rest seems like whining for its own sake. Except maybe comeback AI, even though that doesn't fit the category of the list. If it does fit, then I want to add any enemy in an RPG that is 10 times stronger than any boss in the game, who just pops out of nowhere, unexpected, and for no reason other than to piss you off so bad you want to break the game disc while it's still inside the console. Disma in FF XII prompted that comment. That game has gotten stupidly difficult.
Why does he annoy me? Because he represents the same philosophy as the comeback AI. No matter how much work you put into leveling up your characters, outfitting them, and learning to use them effectively, the game takes away all semblance of accomplishment by throwing something at you that makes you feel like a dolt. It proves to you that it is in control, not you, that it rules and you are just a guest in its domain. It lays you bare and laughs at you.
