GFW Magazine ceases production
« on: Tuesday, April 08, 2008, 12:16:07 PM »
Sad

GFW Magazine is no more. The editors and stuff are going to still be around, beefing up the PC section of 1UP.com. And the podcast will still be made.

Wonder what they'll do for subscribers. My subscription doesn't run out until Dec 09.

People still read print magazines about PC games?

I got the mag, but it was free somehow.

Here is a slightly different take on it.  It seems the mag is going online only.

. . . the decision had "nothing to do with the Chapter 11 stuff," and everything to do with the computer gaming audience's massive migration to online news sources.
That was my thinking.  (See my other post.)

I still enjoy print mags quite a bit.  I really didn't care one way or the other about this one, though.  It was too scatterbrained for its own good... it had no real identity.  I got it for free as well.
