I'm pretty sure that anytime you combine cinnamon and apples you can't go wrong.

I got up early this morning to cheer on my co-workers at the "Hall of claims" softball tournament.  Our competitive team won 1st place.  Then I went over to someone's house and watched the UFC fight.  BJ Penn dissapointed me.  Now I'm here.

Just got off of work.  And before that, I was doing work in the lab.  I haven't had a moment to rest all day.  Lame.
I miss my weekends.

Old college friend of mine was in town tonight, me and a bunch of other friends went out and had a great time. I bought Okami today and played about an hours worth, I cant wait to delve into some more tomorrow.

Julia and I went to my sister's place and watched Howl's Moving Castle over dessert with my sis and her husband.  We always bring movies over because they never see more out of the way movies (which wouldn't really be very out of the way to us or any of you guys).  Played with the kids a little before they went to sleep, then stuffed ourselves with pie.  Awesome.

Was going to spend the rest of the night playing Okami (I only got like 5 hours in today because I had to help Julia with 8 billion things), but I'm thinking I'm gonna' head to bed now and get up early to play since I don't have anything to do tomorrow.  I just feel rotten tonight.

For some reason my skin hurts.  For the life of me I can't figure it out.  It's almost like I have a bruise on my lower back and around my abs, but... there is no bruise.  In front it feels like I did too many situps or something, but I haven't done jack over the last few days.  And in back, it doesn't hurt in the muscle... just right up top.  I'm slightly concerned.  I hope those aren't symptoms of anything evil.

A few of my friends and I hit up some JD and started wandering aimlessly around dorms looking for a party.  Our campus is about 1/3 Jewish, though, and they are all gone for Rosh-Hashana, so it was a pretty slow night.  We ended up just meeting up with like 10 other people and talking.  Not too exciting.

I went drinking with my brother and then to midnight sushi with friends. I had stopped drinking for the past couple of weeks... but he kept insisting we order more pitchers. After I woke up this morning, I feel fine... but getting drunk to me really is no fun and just a waste of money anymore. I guess I could develop a potential problem seeing i'm a few generations down the line of an alchoholic irish immigrant... so I think as of now I'm giving up alchohol and just drinking green tea.

I've said the same many times, but I really don't drink much at all anymore.  A few beers here and there, that's largely it.  I just can't take it.  It's too taxing on my already fucked-up system.

Yeah. I'm sure I may have a few... but I dunno, I feel like trying to have a good time using chemicals is just a lame way to experience life. I was a lot happier before I drank.

a bunch of friends who i was really close to back in school all congregated back here for the weekend. also two people in my current friendship group shared a birthday on saturday - so it was pretty busy. drank alot and smoked alot. worked all day saturday on 3 hours sleep with the most hateful hangover ever, and then had to do it again that night. slept like a baby today though, didn't get up until about 7pm.

About 10 of my good buddies (mostly from highschool) and myself all met up to spread another friend of our's ashes during the day.  After which we ate and had a few drinks.  Then I came home and drank with my roomates and some friends before heading out to a bar that another friend practically runs.
We got drunk.

Then I headed to another bar....a seedy, shady fucked up bar.  It was in that bar that another friend and myself were seperated from all our other friends.  After we realised this we parted ways since we were heading in complete opposite directions.  It was about 3:30-4:00 am at this point. I decided I was going to take a shortcut and get a cab on a street I didn't really want to be on at that time by myself.  At first I didn't think much of it, but after about 20 min. of walking by sketchy shit and not having a cab pick me up (one stopped but wouldn't take me to where I was going since it was out of the way and his shift was ending....the one he called never came) I started to think that maybe I had made a mistake.

Without getting into the full story I had to do something rash in order to scare off a fucked up junkie that was either going to try and rob me or prick me with a needle.  Lesson learned.  I know exactly where not to go looking for a cab.

I found a non violent solution....sort of.

Anyways, after about 20 min looking for a cab I realised that I'm pretty much in this place at a very bad time.  No one is around, traffic is light, and the only people I do see are really fucking sketchy.  So eventually I come by this strung out girl that's probably a cheap ass prostitute. I ask her if she thinks I'll be able to get a cab here or if I should go somewhere else.  She tells me that the cabs are all in the downtown core at that time of night to get all the people spilling out of bars, and are probably returning from the runs there.  They usually are easier to get in half an hour or so.  Great. I'm happy with that news because it means I'm not going to have to walk through some other shady ass streets to get to another place to get a cab.

So I'm like 50 feet away from where I was talking to her and I hear this kind of shuffiling.  I turn around to light a smoke and there's this guy walking out of the alley she was standing in.  He kind of stops when I turn around.  Oh, this is fucking great.  So after about a block of this guy walking behind me it seems pretty aparent that he's following me.  Apart from myself, I've only seen one other person not completely fucked up on meth, heroin, or crack in the last 30-45 min (not including the cab drivers who lied to me about being off duty and about calling cabs to get me)....and that guy was commenting on how we're idiots for going down there to get cabs.

It's not like I haven't been in worse places it's just that for some reason it seemed really bad last night. There's some dude yelling and chasing another dude, an obvious fight going on in an alley, shit like that and there's no one else around from bars or anything, it's all just the local crack heads.

So after another clock or so of this guy following me I figure that he's either going to try to jump me with a needle or he's going to just price me with a needle.  Either way I'm going to lose about $200 or I'm going to get pricked.  So, after another min or two I duck into a parking lot to fake taking a piss and sure enough I hear him shuffiling along behind me on the path thing to the lot.  So, I reach into my pocket, pull out my work utility knife, flick it to snap the blade and hope he thinks it's a switch blade or something.  Well, he got the fuck out of there pretty quickly and I got back onto the street to see him walking back the way he came.

It wasn't neccesarily rash because I pulled out a knife.  In that respect it was probably better that I had it in my pocket from carving a tree where we spread the ashes in the day, if I didn't I probably would have thrown a brick at him or something.  I wasn't about to let him get close enough to jab me with whatever he may have had.  The rash part is I probably should have just kept walking and not let him get anywhere within arms length to me.

It wasn't that bad really, and there's a pretty good chance that he wasn't going to do anything, but I wasn't going to find out the stupid way.

Ooo, knife fights with hobos!  Now you're talking.  Heh... but yeah, nothing worse than being drunk in a shady neighborhood in the wee hours.  I've had a few of those experiences and I could really have done without most of them.  Doing something rash like that could really either work or totally backfire... bit of a crapshoot.

What's everyone up to tonight?

I just watched Lucky Number Slevin, it was a great movie. I'm drinking a little Wild Turkey at the moment, although not very much because I don't have much. Finally get internet at my new place, I've been without it here for three months, which was a complete pain in the ass. It's a pretty boring saturday night.

Shitty day.  Boring night.  Dealing with some classic-game stuff was the highlight, which is pathetic.  I'm now debating whether to have a beer at this late hour, or try to go to sleep.

Well, I'm going out soon.  My estimate of when I'd get nagged into it was off by about an hour.

Hehe.  Beer it was.  Played some more Okami (which seems easier sometimes with a bit of alcohol in the blood), then I went to sleep.  As usual, today came way too soon.  I hate mornings, and during them, I hate the world.

Cobra, you sound far too much like me.  It's a little scary.

Anyway, yesterday Pyro and I went out to breakfast with Julia at a little place we go a lot.  Hit the subway and ran over to Berkeley and Games of Berkeley, where Pyro picked up the WH40k Ork Codex and a squad of Nobz.  Yes, he has been converted.  Bwahahaha!  Then Julia left us to go back home to see a movie with a friend of hers, so Pyro and I continued the journey on to Rasputin Music.  Berkeley was super-crowded and full of fucking morons because of a football game or something, so it was a little rough.  Picked up some CDs at Rasputin, then headed home.  That involved a lot more walking than I realized.  It's like... a really long walk back to my place from the subway.  So we were beat all to hell.  Fortunately we stopped at my comic shop on the way back, and also another little record store that has more 60s-70s psychadelic stuff and a decent section of used jazz (tons of vinyl).  Got some ideas at the comic shop for more ways to waste money, and found out Pyro hadn't seen or even heard of Berserk.  That's my favorite anime/manga, for the uninformed.  So I told him we'd watch the anime when we got back, which we did.  I forced a couple episodes on him, but then he couldn't stop watching.  I think we watched 9 episodes in total.  We had some dinner, Julia came home, we watched the Opeth live DVD, and then we played Ratchet and Clank: Deadlocked for an hour or two before going to bed at 2:30 or so.

Good times.

went up to bristol this weekend. on friday night went to an amazing super-bar-thing, that consisted of twelve seperate bars, each with a different feel and music. after that we went to a casino and i lost a lot of money.

on saturday night a friend put on and dj'd at a psy-trance gig, which we helped set up and harrassed people with fliers for. did quite a combination of substances and ended up sitting in a hollow plastic armchair that vibrated to the bass levels in the music which fealt utterly fantastic. went back to a mates house party after that and got even more messy. got back at about 11am this morning and crashed out for the day.

my brain feels quite addled and i now have no money for the month, but it was totally worth it.

This weekend was awesome.  Last night, I got really trashed and smoked hookah in someone's room.  I must say I love alcohol and hookah.  Then I went to a club with 5 women.  Good odds.  I basically just got to grab asses all night long.

Then I slept in my favoritest girl ever's bed and then she took me to my own bed and tucked me in.   :-*

I've spent the majority of this weekend doing homework.
