Topic: May is pissing me off

I don't know what the weather's been like for the rest of you, but May has been pretty crappy here.  It's been in the 50's or 60's and we got more rain in the month May than we did for the year of 2007 from January through October.  Normally it's in the 70's by now.

What really pisses me off is getting my grass cut has been ridiculous.  I don't have standard days off.  It fluctuates from week to week.  Plus I go to school.

So what basically happens is I'll have a day off and cut the grass.  Then when it gets around time to cut it again I'll have school and work and won't be able to do it.  Then I'll have one day off and it will rain all day.  Then I have school and work again the next day (which is of course gorgeous and would be a perfect day to do it).  Then I have work but no school the day after that but have plans and can't get it done.  Then the day after that I work 11 - 8 and so can't do it.  Then I finally have another day with just work but no school or I'm off, but again it rains all day!

It's been driving me insane.  I've been cutting the grass like every two weeks and it is a jungle by the time I can do it.

I don't have a lawn to cut, sometimes I'm glad I don't because its such a pain in the ass, especially in humid 100+ degree summer weather here in Texas.  I remember when I would cut my parent's lawn when I lived with them and in the summer I would be exhausted even though the lawn didn't take all that long to mow.  Our summer this year has pretty much been here since early this month, really humid and hot with an occasional nice day with no humidity.  That was the only thing I liked about living in Phoenix was the dry heat.

If not being able to mow your lawn often enough is your big problem, you should seriously consider counting your blessings.  Twice.

It's been raining a lot here as well.  I believe the forecast says it will taper off today and we'll get some sunshine tomorrow.  Hopefully.

Can you hire any neighborhood kids to mow the lawn for you?

I actually enjoy mowing the lawn - I find it really relaxing. It gives me time to think, plus you get a little exercise. It hasn't needed it for a week or so, though. since it hasn't rained here since the big storm rolled through with all the tornadoes.

I love mowing the lawn too, which is weird because I used to hate it when I was a teenager.  The problem is just that rain and my schedule have been preventing it.

Thats how I thought of it. When I was younger and had to mow my mom's yard, which was sizably big, I just stuck some headphones on and started mowing. I rather enjoyed it. Though when I got older my mom starting hiring people to do it, we actually got into an argument over this cause I kept telling her to let me do it since Id just do it for free, but she wouldnt let me. Though I wouldnt weedwack the yard like hired landscaping would do, weekwacking is a bitch.

Yeah I hate trimming too but now instead of just not doing it I grin and bear it.  Well I guess I don't grin exactly.  More like grimace.
