Sesame Street was such an awesome show, my mom said I used to watch it all the time and was probably one of the reasons I was reading so well by the time I actually started school.

Also, not to derail the thread but on that video link I noticed a related video on the side of the page of Mr. Rogers speaking at a senate hearing about funding for PBS which Nixon was about to cut in 1969.  I had no idea Mr. Rogers made this kind of a stand for PBS and its pretty damn cool that he ended up saving the station and its funding back in its early days.  I still watch a good chunk of PBS, especially NOVA.

So weird.  Pyro and I both remembered it like it was yesterday.  Crazy.

Sesame Street and Reading Rainbow were the jam. Funny to think how probably none of those people in the video had that job 10 years later.

You know, I wouldn't really be suprised if it was pretty much the exact same process used today and there were still roughly the same number of jobs in the factories.  It could very well be cheaper to just keep things the same for years on end rather then upgrade an entire interconection series of industrial machines set up in such a specialised way.  I'd imagine you'd possibly have to scrap a lot of working machinery to do so, and by that point most of the jobs that could be easily replaced by machines probably would have been.  And unions...damn.  But you mentioning that actually has me curious now.

Art Attack ran for a very short time here, but I loved that. I also liked 321 Contact.

What was that show with the kids with special pens, and they could communicate with a ball of light, and solve mysteries and stuff?
