Ugh...This just in, pirating is illegal. Its now even *more* illegal. That will surely solve things. Hows that war on drugs going?
It feels that this is like trying to pass laws to keep the horse and buggy around. The internet and the easy flow of data and entertainment is not going to go away. Its just a matter of figuring out how to make it work for you. If you can't make money creating music, movies, games, whatever then you really have no reason to do so. That doesn't mean no one will make those things anymore, they will just be done differently.
Its sort of a tipping point in the world of media. Just have the wait out the old buildings to fall down before the new ones can be built.
